Taxonomy
Plagiomene was named by Matthew (1918). It is not extant. Its type is Plagiomene multicuspis. It is the type genus of Plagiomenidae.

It was assigned to Plagiomeninae by Van Valen (1967); to Dermoptera by Gunnell (1989); and to Plagiomenidae by Matthew (1918), Hay (1930), McKenna and Bell (1997).
