Scirtes wightensis
Taxonomy
Scirtes wightensis was named by Kirejtshuk and Ponomarenko (2019). Its type specimen is IWCMS 2018.42, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Thorness Bay, Bembridge Marls, Isle of Wight (IWCMS coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bembridge Marls Formation of the United Kingdom.
