Taxonomy
Plateumaris (Necrodexis) rubiconis was named by Kurochkin and Kirejtshuk (2019). Its type specimen is NHMUK I.10326, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (Brodie coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Plateumaris (Necrodexis).
