Taxonomy
Califadesma tuscanum was named by Saul (1989). Its type specimen is LACMIP 7858 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 4082, Tuscan Springs, which is in a Campanian marine siliciclastic in the Chico Formation of California.
