Matiamys elegans
Taxonomy
Matiamys elegans was named by Vucetich (1984). Its type specimen is MACN 14.565, a partial skull (craneo casi completo con toda la dentadura pero sin las arcadas cigomaticas), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pilcaniyeu Viejo, which is in a Colloncuran terrestrial horizon in the Collón Cura Formation of Argentina.
