Alluvisorex was named by Hutchison (1966). It is not extant. Its type is Alluvisorex arcadentes.

It was assigned to Soricidae by Hutchison (1966), Carroll (1988), Gunnell et al. (2008); and to Soricini by Van Valen (1967), Korth and Evander (2016).
