Aralianthea brongniarti was named by Massalongo (1893). It is not extant. It is the type species of Aralianthea.

Synonyms
  • Fucoides obtusus was named by Brongniart (1828). It is not extant. It is the type species of Gigartinites.

    It was recombined as Gigartinites obtusus by Brongniart (1849); it was replaced with Aralianthea brongniarti by Massalongo (1893).
