Donrussellia was named by Szalay (1976). Its type is Donrussellia gallica. It was considered unknown by Godinot (1978).
It was synonymized subjectively with Teilhardina by Savage et al. (1977).
It was assigned to Tarsiiformes by Szalay (1976); to Adapinae by Hooker (1986); to Cercamoniinae by Franzen (1994); to Omomyidae by McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Adapidae by Godinot (1978), Estravís (2000).
