Stavba babkaeva was named by Vršanská and Vršanský (2019). Its type specimen is NIGP164831, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Kachin amber (NIGP collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar. It is the type species of Stavba.
