Taxonomy

Caeciliini was named by Kolbe (1880) [Spelling emended from Caeciliidae by ICZN rules to avoid homonymy with Caeciliidae Rafinesque, 1814]. It is extant.

It was reranked as the family Caeciliidae by Hong (2002), Hong (2002); it was reranked as the family Caeciliusidae by Nomenclature (1996), Yoshizawa (2002), Lienhard and Smithers (2002), Engel and Perkovsky (2006), Yoshizawa and Johnson (2014).

It was assigned to Psocoptera by Nomenclature (1996), Hong (2002), Hong (2002); to Caeciliusoidea by Yoshizawa (2002), Lienhard and Smithers (2002); and to Caeciliusetae by Engel and Perkovsky (2006), Yoshizawa and Johnson (2014).
