Taxonomy
Prototrichalus meiyingae was named by Molina-Olmedo et al. (2020). Its type specimen is MTEC 057004, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber (MTEC collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar.
