Taxonomy
Bornia cooki was named by Willett (1937). Its type specimen is LACMIP 1047, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP loc. 59, Lincoln Avenue deposit, Playa del Rey, which is in a Pleistocene marginal marine sandstone in the Palos Verdes Sand Formation of California.
