Taxonomy
Asaphiscus glabra was named by Walcott (1916). Its type specimen is USNM 62804 and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Blountia glabra by Resser (1937); it was recombined as Eteraspis glabra by Resser (1942); it was corrected as Asaphiscus glaber by Rasetti (1965).
