Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
B. Engesser 1972Genus of Gliridae, small to medium in size; teeth with concave masticatory surface and relatively simple tooth-pattern, main ridges higher than secundary ridges.
Lower molars: two-rooted, endolophid interrupted, with strong main ridges; M2 inf. mostly broader than M1.
Upper molars: three-rooted, nearly square-like, endoloph not interrupted; anterior middle ridge on lingual side always conntected to the endoloph; transverse ridges always are - especially on M2 - parallel to each other and perpendicular to the endolph. Lingual side ornamented.
R. Daams and H. de Bruijn 1995M1 and M2 of which the anterior side of the trigone points obliquely backward. Lingual cusps and lingual ends of the posteroloph fused. In the trigone two small, accessory ridges (centrolophs) are present, of which the anterior one joins the paracone. Lower molars with well-developed mesoconid-entoconid ridge (=mesolophid). The protoconid ridge (=metalophid) does not reach the metaconid. Paraconid, mctaconid and mesolophid (=centrolophid) form a continuous ridge which curves twice at right angles.
