Conularia miseneri was named by Foerste (1917) [Foerste (1917) did not specifically designate a type-specimen; only one specimen was illustrated; other specimens were mentioned in the text. Collected by John MIsener from the "Whitewater member, Richmond Group, at Richmond, Indiana', USA; also occurs "at the same horizon at the western edge of Dayton, Ohio, at the northern end of Huffman hill, where the Springfield traction line crosses over the raiklroad to Wellston (Foerste, 1917, p. 43).].
