Korth 1987Geomyines with subhypsodont cheek teeth with incomplete enamel failure on medial and lateral sides; molars with bilophate occlusal pattern consisting of two transverse rows of three cusps on unworn teeth; P4 and p4 rooted throughout ontogeny, molars rootless until very late wear stages; protoloph of P4 buccolingually elongate; metalophid of P4 consists of two major cusps (metaconid and protostylid) with one or many accessory cuspules; central basin retained between the metalophid and hypo- lophid on P4 on little worn specimens; incisors broad and flattened anteriorly; depression present on lateral side of the mandible anterior and ventral to articular condyle.
