Taxonomy
Menispermicarpum venablesi was named by Chandler (1961). It is not extant. Its type locality is The London Clay Flora - Bognor, which is in a Ypresian marine claystone/sandstone in the London Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Atriaecarpum venablesi by Chandler (1978).
