Ankylorhiza tiedemani

Taxonomy
Squalodon tiedemani was named by Allen (1887). Its type specimen is AMNH 10445, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wando River, which is in a Rupelian coastal horizon in the Ashley Formation of South Carolina. It is the type species of Ankylorhiza.

It was corrected as Squalodon tiedmanni by Trouessart (1904); it was considered a nomen dubium by Dal Piaz (1916); it was considered a nomen dubium by Dooley (2003); it was recombined as Ankylorhiza tiedemani by Boessenecker et al. (2020).
