Taxonomy
Polythecalis irregularis was named by Zhao and Chen (1963). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shoushangou, Shoushangou Fm, Yumuqiao City, Huadian County, which is in a Kungurian shallow subtidal limestone in the Shoushangou Formation of China.
