Pseudoparablastomeryx was named by Frick (1937) [named as subgenus by Frick 1937; raised to genus level by Taylor & Webb (1976).]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Leptomerycidae by Taylor and Webb (1976), Carroll (1988) and Vislobokova (2001).
