Taxonomy
Megagallinula harundinea was named by Kurochkin (1968). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lake Chelkar-Teniz, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Megagallinula.
