Taxonomy
Retortocelis spicipalpia was named by Mey and Wichard (2020). Its type specimen is NIGP 170800, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Kachin amber (NIGP collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar.
