Taxonomy
Eschara rowei was named by Brydone (1906). Its type specimen is SMB36113 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Trimingham (Lunata Zone, Sponge Beds), which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate chalk in the Upper Chalk Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Rhagasostoma rowei by Koromyslova et al. (2018).
