Juxia was named by Chow and Chiu (1964). Its type is Juxia sharamurenense.
It was assigned to Hyracodontidae by Radinsky (1966), Carroll (1988); to Indricotheriinae by Prothero and Schoch (1989); to Alloceropinae by Dashzeveg (1996); to Rhinocerotoidea by Holbrook (1999); and to Paraceratheriinae by Qiu and Wang (2007), Wang et al. (2016).
