Taxonomy
Maevia eureka was named by Riquelme and Menéndez-Acuña (2017). Its type specimen is BLMACH9, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Rio Panachen, Totolapa, Mexican amber (MACH collection), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.
It was recombined as Paramaevia eureka by Riquelme et al. (2021).
