Taxonomy
Calva (Egelicalva) crassa was named by Saul and Popenoe (1992). Its type specimen is UCLA 40421 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 4118, Jalama Creek, which is in a Campanian offshore sandstone/conglomerate in the Jalama Formation of California.
