Taxonomy
Triassagrionidae was named by Tillyard (1922). Its type is Triassagrion.

It was synonymized subjectively with Protomyrmeleontidae by Carpenter (1992); it was reranked as the subfamily Triassagrioninae by Deregnaucourt et al. (2019).

It was assigned to Anisozygoptera by Tillyard (1922); to Archizygoptera by Tillyard (1923); and to Protomyrmeleontidae by Deregnaucourt et al. (2019).
