Taxonomy
Palaeopeplus cascus was named by Powell and Cline (2021). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber, La Toca mine (AMNH coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the La Toca Formation of the Dominican Republic.
It was recombined as Brachypeplus cascus by Kirejtshuk and Kovalev (2022).
