Taxonomy
Cheirogaster steinbacheri was named by Karl (1996). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is St. Pankraz Schwarzerzsch. level, which is in a Lutetian terrestrial horizon in Austria.
It was recombined as Eochersina steinbacherae by Karl (2018); it was considered a nomen dubium by Pérez-García et al. (2016); it was recombined as Eochersina steinbacheri by Karl and Tichy (2019).
