Taxonomy
Trogoderma ainu was named by Perkovsky et al. (2021). Its type specimen is PIN 3387/1060, a nymph (first or second instar larva), and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Sakhalin Amber (PIN collection 3387), which is in a Lutetian terrestrial amber/coal in the Naibuchi Formation of the Russian Federation.
