Taxonomy
Protolycosa suazoi was named by Selden (2021). Its type specimen is NMMNH P-71523, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Locality 345, Kinney brick quarry, which is in a Kasimovian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Wild Cow Formation of New Mexico.
