Taxonomy
Pitar (Lamelliconcha) crooki was named by Clark and Anderson (1938). Its type specimen is UCMP 11217 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. A1889, Wheatland, which is in a Priabonian coastal conglomerate/sandstone in the Wheatland Formation of California.
