Archaenodon insolens

Taxonomy
Archaenodon insolens was named by Cope (1873) [genotype]. Its type specimen is AMNH 5143, a mandible (Right and left rami of the mandible with the canine, P3, and the last two molars represented), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Washakie B (Lower), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Washakie Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Achaenodon.

It was recombined as Achaenodon insolens by Osborn (1883), Hay (1902), Peterson (1919), Gazin (1955), Stucky (1999), Foss (2007).
