Taxonomy
Prosthennops niobrarensis was named by Colbert (1935). Its type specimen is UNSM 20-6-7-29-CM, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Colbertchoerus niobrarensis by Prothero (2021).
