Taxonomy
Webbochoerus macfaddeni was named by Prothero (2021). Its type specimen is UF 29001 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Love Bone Bed, which is in a Clarendonian marginal marine horizon in the Alachua Formation of Florida. It is the type species of Webbochoerus.

[Zygomatic wing fan-like and strongly dorsallycurved; shallow rostral muscle fossa, which is beneath theanterior edge of the zygomatic wing; glenoid fossa does notextend far laterally to tympanic process; maxilla does notcontact lateral edge of orbitosphenoid bulla; broad auditorybulla; suprapalatine inflation with large open, non-cancelloussinuses; shallow dorsal palatine sulcus; premaxilla over 50 mm long, longer than in any other tayassuines; transversely elongate occipital condyles; moderately long (40-50 mm) upper diastema between canines and premolars; cheek teeth not broad and bulbous as in Macrogenis; P2 with protocone, metacone; P3-4 submolariform; long rostrum, and upper and lower diastemata moderately long (50-55 mm); cl lacks labial ridges; p2 has a small metaconid; p3-4 submolariform.]
