Orca (Gladiator) stenorhyncha was named by Gray (1870). It is extant. Its type specimen is BM 361b-46.8.73 and 361c.
It was synonymized subjectively with Orcinus orca by Hershkovitz (1966); it was recombined as Orca stenorhyncha by Gray (1870), Scott (1873) and Jefferson (2021).
