Amphicyon riggsi
Taxonomy
Amphicyon riggsi was named by McGrew (1939) [species not mentioned by Hunt 1998b]. Its type specimen is FMNH P12029, a partial skeleton (Anterior portion of skull with complete dentition (except for M3), jaw, proximal portion of ulna, and axis. C1 and m3 not fully erupted.), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rabbitt Creek, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Deep River Formation of Montana.
