Swintonia butwalensis

Taxonomy
Swintonia butwalensis was named by Konomatsu and Awasthi (1999). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, Lucknow, BSIP 37690. Its type locality is Tinau Khola, Locality 1, which is in a Miocene fluvial mudstone/sandstone in the Arung Khola Formation of Nepal.
