Taxonomy
Cyrtosymbole (Cyrtosymbole) niazensis was named by Feist et al. (2003) [Cyrtosymbole (? Cyrtosymbole) niazensis]. Its type specimen is UM2-RF 335, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Top of Hill III. Northwest of Niaz, Kale Sardar, which is in a Famennian carbonate limestone in the Shishtu Formation of Iran.
