Taxonomy
Bisonalveus browni was named by Gazin (1956) [genotype]. Its type specimen is USNM 20928, a mandible, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Saddle, which is in a Tiffanian terrestrial horizon in Wyoming. It is the type species of Bisonalveus.
