Taxonomy
Republica weatbrooki was named by Archibald and Cannings (2021). Its type specimen is SR 06-59-08, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Republic, locality B4131, which is in a Ypresian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Klondike Mountain Formation of Washington. It is the type species of Republica.
