Taxonomy
Palaeonerius souzai was named by Sepúlveda and Gomes (2020). Its type specimen is DZUP Mex-004, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Mexican amber (DZUP Coll), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico. It is the type species of Palaeonerius.
