Taxonomy
Tunguskagyrus yani was named by Ponomarenko (2021). Its type specimen is PIN 2362/22, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Anakit-1 (PIN collection 2362), which is in a Changhsingian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Chichikan Formation of the Russian Federation.
