Taxonomy
Shorea chandernagarensis was named by Khan et al. (2016). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Department of Botany, University of Calcutta, CUH/PPL/C/f/7, a seed/fruit. Its type locality is Chander Nagar-Gohpur Road cutting, Itanagar, which is in a Pliocene/Pleistocene fluvial shale in the Kimin Formation of India.
