Quercus (Heterobalanus) heqingensis was named by Huang and Zhou (2015). It is not extant. Its type specimen is PC2015021, a leaf. Its type locality is Nanbanbang, Heqing (member 2), which is in a Pliocene fluvial claystone in the Sanying Formation of China.
