Taxonomy
Zanthoxylum trachyspermum was named by Zhu and Zhou (2016). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Kunming Institute of Botany, STB003, a seed/fruit. Its type locality is Shuitangba, which is in a Baodean terrestrial claystone in the Zhaotong Formation of China.
