Taxonomy
Hypercercoula jiewenae was named by Qiu (2022). Its type specimen is MYNU FNo. 00001, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber (Mianyang University MYNU collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar. It is the type species of Hypercercoula.
