Taxonomy
Ceratopteris macrocostata was named by Baksi (1962). It is not extant. Its type locality is Simsang River section, southern Shillong Plateau, which is in an Eocene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Tura Formation of India.
It was recombined as Cicatricosisporites macrocostatus by Sah and Dutta (1968), Lakhanpal et al. (1976).
