Taxonomy
Daphoenodon falkenbachi was named by Hunt (2002). Its type specimen is F:AM 54144, a skeleton (complete skull and associated mandibles), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Eighteen Mile District, which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in Wyoming.
