Daphoenodon superbus
Taxonomy
Amphicyon superbus was named by Peterson (1907). Its type specimen is CM 1589, a skeleton (practically complete skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Beardog Hill, which is in a Harrisonian fluvial sandstone in the Marsland Formation of Nebraska.
It was recombined as Daphoenodon superbus by Peterson (1909), Peterson (1910), Olsen (1958) and Hunt (1998).
